(Exsports News, Lee Ye-jin Reporter) The nominees for the Grand Prize at the '2024 SBS Entertainment Awards' have been officially announced, set to take place on December 31st (Tuesday) at 9 PM. Notably, Ji Seok-jin, who failed to make the list last year, has once again been excluded from the Grand Prize contenders, drawing attention.
In a teaser released today (23rd), seven nominees for the prestigious award were seen in front of a mysterious priest, confessing their desires for the Grand Prize. Particularly noteworthy is that Kim Nam-gil, an actor from SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Fiery Priest 2’, provided the narration, marking a surprising appearance after the teaser surpassed 10 million views, following the success of the 'Mood Dragon' teaser.
This year's Grand Prize nominees include Yoo Jae-suk, Jeon Hyun-moo, Shin Dong-yup, Lee Sang-min, Seo Jang-hoon, Lee Hyun-yi, and Kim Jong-kook, who will engage in an unpredictable and fierce competition for the award. The seven nominees did not hide their aspirations in the teaser video, eliciting laughter.
- Lee Sang-min from ‘My Ugly Duckling’ and ‘Shoes Off, The Return of Superman’ expressed, “I honestly want to win the Grand Prize at least once.”
- Lee Hyun-yi from ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny’ and ‘Girls Who Can’t Stop the Rhythm’ showed enthusiasm by even breaking into a dance.
- Kim Jong-kook from ‘Running Man’ and ‘My Ugly Duckling’ quipped, “The standards for the Grand Prize should include stamina. How can Lee Sang-min and Jeon Hyun-moo film variety shows with those kinds of bodies?”
- Jeon Hyun-moo, who has appeared in ‘The Magic Star’ and ‘KangsimjangVS’, commented, “It feels like I am dating SBS. I want to do something great at SBS,” openly expressing his ambition for the Grand Prize.
In contrast, Yoo Jae-suk from ‘Running Man’ and Shin Dong-yup from ‘My Ugly Duckling’ created a tense atmosphere when they spoke to the mysterious priest, with Yoo saying, “This is confusing,” and Shin requesting, “Please be quiet.” Tensions escalated further when Kim Jong-kook expressed anger, saying, “Come and face me,” adding to the curiosity surrounding the mysterious priest's role among the nominees.
Meanwhile, the '2024 SBS Entertainment Awards' will be hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo, Jang Do-yeon, and Lee Hyun-yi as the three MCs on December 31st (Tuesday) at 9 PM. This year marks the first-ever ‘SBS Entertainment Awards’ held on December 31, which promises to be a star-studded event as SBS entertainers gather to celebrate. Additionally, popular celebrities who have captured the public's attention online and offline throughout the year will appear in large numbers as presenters, further elevating the event's excitement.
