24-Year-Old Savings Pro Aims to Buy Home by 30, Faces Tough Market in Seoul

In a captivating episode of KBS 2TV's 'High-End Salt Bug,' the spotlight was on a 24-year-old savings champion with an ambitious goal of saving 200 million won.

This young saver shared that he has been diligently saving 80% of his monthly salary, managing to accumulate 30 million won over the past year, in addition to his previous savings of 10 million won. His inspiration stems from a desire to buy a home by the age of 30, believing that owning property would facilitate further financial stability. Fellow guest Lee Chan-won expressed admiration for his dedication, recalling his own savings journey from part-time jobs during his youth.

When discussing the housing market, Lee raised the point that purchasing a home in Seoul for 200 million won is nearly impossible. He humorously suggested that the savings champion consider a property in Daegu, which has been on the market for eight years at the same price. However, the young saver firmly expressed his preference to remain in Seoul, highlighting the enduring appeal of the vibrant capital.
