Actor Ahn Se-ha removed as ambassador for national theater festival amid school bullying allegations

Actor Ahn Se-ha finds himself at the center of controversy as he is removed from his role as a promotional ambassador for the Okcheon National Theater Festival due to school bullying allegations.

On October 13, the Okcheon County officials announced the decision after discussions with the Korea Theater Association's Chungbuk branch, citing ongoing media reports that raised concerns about the allegations. They stated, "Regardless of the truth behind the allegations, it was deemed inappropriate to continue having him as a promotional ambassador." The bullying allegations surfaced just a day after Ahn was appointed to the role, leading to widespread discussion on social media.

The allegations were brought to light by an individual claiming to be a high school classmate of Ahn, detailing disturbing incidents from their school days. This led to additional claims from other former classmates, further complicating the situation. In response, Ahn's management, Hunus Entertainment, has denied the allegations and stated that they have hired a lawyer to address the accusations.

The fallout from this controversy has already impacted Ahn’s career, resulting in his exit from the musical "Gentleman's Guide" and the cancellation of a scheduled ceremonial pitch for the NC Dinos. As the situation unfolds, the theater festival and Ahn's future projects remain uncertain.
