Byun Woo-seok and Hyeri: A Friendship and Success Story

According to Korean media, Byun Woo-seok, who has become a trendsetting star through tvN's 'Jumping on Seonjae's Back', met with his close friend Hyeri, who has been cheering for his success.

On the 31st, Hyeri's YouTube channel 'Hyel's Club' released a video titled 'The Byun Woo-seok Incident: Unifying the Tastes of a 30-year-old Friend. ep16 Byun Woo-seok'.

Hyeri enthusiastically introduced Byun Woo-seok, saying, "Today, I am introducing the top trendsetter and my close friend. He is the top star shaking up South Korea."

Byun Woo-seok, showing their genuine friendship, responded, "We always used to meet in sweatsuits, but seeing you dressed up like this since the 'When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon' production presentation is so awkward."

Hyeri asked, "How have you been? You must be getting a lot of attention these days," to which Byun Woo-seok replied, "I still can't believe it. I recently went to the Jeonju International Film Festival, and people really liked me. A lot of people came to see me. Usually, people would look at me and wonder, 'Who is that tall guy?' but this time, many came specifically for me. There were so many people that they had to change the venue."

Hyeri proudly recalled, "When the first episode of your drama aired, I told you that it seemed like you were going to do well. I didn't know it would shake the whole country."

Byun Woo-seok shared, "I stayed quietly at home and came out today," and accepted a highball made by Hyeri, who noted that he usually doesn't drink well. They laughed about their regular monthly acting study sessions where they never drank but always had dinner and ice cream together.

The two became close while appearing together in the drama 'When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon'. Byun Woo-seok said, "I'm not quick to get close to people, but Hyeri suggested, 'Do you want to try a study session?' so we studied together about once a week. We learned a lot by reading the script and acting in various ways with other actors and directors."

He added humorously, "I worked hard back then," and mentioned, "It had been a while since I studied in a group, but it was more productive because everyone was doing well in their own fields." Hyeri agreed, noting their hard work, especially before Byun Woo-seok started his new drama 'Kangnam Soon'.

Byun Woo-seok shared his first impressions of the 'Jumping on Seonjae's Back' script: "The scenes were so vivid in my imagination, and I wanted to be in that space so much that I called the company daily to check the progress."

Hyeri commented, "When you told me about the story, I thought it was perfect for you. I even told you that this would change your life, but it must have been challenging with various settings from the teenage to the thirties and performing on a music stage."

Byun Woo-seok responded, "I originally couldn't swim well, so I learned swimming. I tried everything I could, practicing swimming every chance I got for three months, and also recording songs. The directors helped a lot, and I enjoyed the recording experience, always wanting to sing in a drama."

He named 'Sonagi' as his favorite song from the recordings, also liking the fast-paced 'Run Run'. On the day of Hyeri's YouTube shoot, Byun Woo-seok's 'Sonagi' entered the Melon TOP10 and later rose to TOP4.

He revealed, "I was supposed to sing 'Geuraetnabwa' for a scene, but I thought
