Adore Condemns Criticism from Lawyer, Defends Board's Authority Amid Ongoing Hive Dispute

In a surprising turn of events, Adore has expressed regret over a media report criticizing HYBE based on a lawyer's personal claims.

On September 13, Adore issued a statement requesting a rebuttal to the article titled “HYBE, Ignoring the Law and Employing Unscrupulous Tactics” published by a local outlet. They clarified that this action was taken to protect corporate values and artist IP rights. The comment followed a strong criticism from attorney Lee Hyun-gon, who accused HYBE of bypassing legal obligations due to an ongoing dispute, likening their actions to unethical practices seen in real estate redevelopment scenarios.

Adore emphasized that the board's decision to replace the CEO was within their rightful authority, allowing them to act based on business considerations. They expressed disappointment over the lack of inquiries or opportunities for rebuttal regarding the lawyer's statements, particularly since Lee had previously represented the former CEO Min Hee-jin during a preliminary injunction.

In the same context, Min Hee-jin was ousted from her CEO position on August 27 amid the ongoing conflict with HYBE. Following her removal, members of NewJeans, who had previously maintained a lower profile during these disputes, took to a live broadcast to advocate for her reinstatement.

HYBE's CEO, Lee Jae-sang, reportedly noted at a shareholder meeting on September 12 that while the situation may take time to resolve, they are responding calmly and according to principles.
