After Battling Acute Osteomyelitis, Do Kyung-wan Reveals He Struggles with Painful Aftereffects

Broadcaster Do Kyung-wan recently opened up about his struggles with aftereffects from his battle with acute osteomyelitis.

In a video titled “I was wondering if... maybe some are worried...???” released on the YouTube channel of Do Kyung-wan and Jang Yoon-jung, he stated, “I’ve had surgery, and while some may think I’m still in recovery, I’m fully healed now. I only visit for routine check-ups. However, I am dealing with some aftereffects.” Do Kyung-wan explained that during his hand surgery, a nail was removed, and it has been growing back abnormally, leading to discomfort.

After this, he visited a nail salon to get treatment for his troublesome nail, expressing satisfaction with a sense of stability following the service. He shared, “It doesn't feel quite like my own body, but it brings a certain comfort." This visit came just before he headed to a filming location with his wife, Jang Yoon-jung.

During the shoot, Jang Yoon-jung remarked on the improvements to his nails and playfully scolded him for not taking care of it sooner. She emphasized the importance of gradual maintenance for the best results in a humorous manner. The couple’s engaging dynamic highlights their support for one another.

In a prior appearance on Channel A's "Best Friends Documentary - Dining Table for Four," Do Kyung-wan revealed the challenges he faced due to his condition, including undergoing five surgeries and receiving daily intravenous injections. He conveyed his deep concern for his children, stating that he negotiated with his doctor to be prescribed medication to help manage his situation.

He also shared the severe side effects from antibiotics, experiencing symptoms that included discolored tears and reduced kidney function. Do Kyung-wan's candidness about his health issues sheds light on his resilience and determination to overcome adversity.
