After overcoming personal tragedy, actress Sa-gang (46), also known as Hong You-jin, is set to make her return to television.
She will star in the upcoming Genie TV drama "Namibe," premiering on April 23 at 10 PM, marking her first role in a drama in four years since "Elegant Friends" (2020). In "Namibe," she plays the character Kang Joo-hyun, the sister of Kang Soo-hyun (played by Go Hyun-jung), taking on the responsibility of caring for their mother while her busy sister works. Though she appears glamorous on the outside, her character harbors a softer, more fragile interior.
The series revolves around a star-making project involving former producer Soo-hyun and trainee Yoo Jin-woo (played by Ryu Un), originally titled "A Starry Night" before reverting to its original name. It is produced by Han Sang-jae, director of "Cruel Intern" (2023), and written by Eom Sung-min, known for the film "The Day of National Bankruptcy" (2018).
Earlier this year, Sa-gang faced the loss of her husband, Shin Se-ho, whom she married in 2007, and with whom she shares two daughters. Notably, Shin was previously a dancer for the famous K-pop group 'g.o.d' and singer Park Jin-young, and was reported to have no known health issues prior to his passing.
This weekend, fans can catch a glimpse of Sa-gang's daily life on the SBS Plus program "Solo Because," airing on the 12th at 8:40 PM.
