According to a report from OSEN on the 14th, Woo Ji-won and his wife A have been separated since their mutual divorce in 2019, after 17 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in 2002 and welcomed two daughters during their time together. Despite the split, both Woo Ji-won and his ex-wife are expected to continue their parenting roles diligently, as Woo Ji-won frequently shares pictures with his daughters on social media, showcasing his affectionate fatherhood.
Woo Ji-won is a prominent figure in Korean basketball history, known as “the Prince of the Court.” He began his journey as a basketball player in elementary school and gained recognition playing alongside his teammate Jeon Hee-chul at Kyungbok High School. After his university days, he entered the professional league in 1996 and made significant contributions to teams like the Dongbu Securities and the Samsung Thunders, retiring from professional play after the 2009-2010 season.
Following his retirement, Woo Ji-won transitioned to a successful career in broadcasting, working as a basketball commentator before branching out into acting.
