The late actor Kim Soo-mi has garnered attention for her striking last photo from six years ago.
During her appearance on SBS's 'My Little Old Boy' on November 18, 2018, she requested the members to take unconventional photos for her memorial. Kim expressed her desire for a memorial service that shared memories rather than sorrow, stating, "I want a photo that you won't see in any funeral parlor, where I dance without weeping." Emphasizing acceptance, she said, "While it's not enjoyable to face death at over 70 years old, we must embrace it."
Kim chose a photo taken by Yang Se-hyung, saying, "This is what I wanted," and expressed her wish to leave a memorable statement at her funeral. Unfortunately, Kim Soo-mi suffered cardiac arrest on the morning of her passing and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. The cause of death was reported as hyperglycemic shock, with her funeral taking place at Hanyang University Hospital on the morning of the 27th.
