BLACKPINK's Jennie Clarifies That 'Rubies' Is Not the Official Fandom Name Amidst Rumors and Controversy

BLACKPINK's Jennie has stirred excitement among fans with recent updates regarding her fandom name.

On August 19, a representative from Jennie's agency, OA Entertainment, clarified that “Rubies” refers to a news page for fans, not the official fandom name. This comes after a previous announcement where Jennie addressed her supporters with a friendly message, sparking speculation that "Ruby" would become her personal fandom name. However, this has led to some controversy as the name overlaps with the fandom of singer Kwon Eun-bi.

Despite the confusion, the name "Ruby" holds special significance for Jennie, as her full English name is “Jennie Ruby Jane,” and she has even registered the trademark for it. In addition, Jennie has signed a partnership with Columbia Records, announcing her solo comeback with a new single this October.

Fans eagerly await more updates as BLACKPINK continues to take the K-Pop scene by storm.
