Comedian Kim Jong-seok has recently revealed troubling news about his financial struggles, disclosing that he is burdened with a staggering debt of 10 billion won.
In a recent appearance on MBN's 'Exclusive World,' Kim shared his daily life, which involves constantly traveling and living in motels. He explained that due to his financial situation, he sold his home in Gangnam and currently lives in a semi-basement apartment, akin to being separated from his family. After sharing these personal insights, he wrapped up his day by filming a children's program as his well-known character, “Dduk-dak-yi Dad.”
Kim, born in 1959, debuted as a comedian in 1983 and gained popularity through various children's programs. Although he married a much younger wife at 38 and has three children, he is now living apart from his family. Surprisingly, he mentioned that his home has remained unpacked for the past three years, indicating the uncertainty in his situation.
The comedian also revealed his venture into the café business, operating three large establishments while holding a barista certification. Despite his ambition to promote Korean coffee and bread in the U.S., he has accumulated significant debt, initially starting with 2.2 billion won. He disclosed that with an interest rate of 7%, his monthly repayments amount to around 60 million won, as his businesses continue to struggle after one year.
