FTISLAND's Choi Min-hwan has recently found himself embroiled in a scandal involving allegations of sexual misconduct, following revelations made by his ex-wife, Yul-hee.
On October 24, Yul-hee accused Min-hwan of visiting entertainment venues during their marriage and even described instances of inappropriate behavior in front of family members. She included recorded conversations that appear to suggest suspicious statements related to such activities. These recordings date from July to November 2022, highlighting incidents that raise serious concerns about his actions during their marriage.
In a vlog posted on November 7, 2022, just a day after a meeting with an "employee," Yul-hee expressed her struggles as a mother, stating that the lack of public updates from her personal channel was due to emotional changes and the challenges of raising children. Her commentary reflected the pressures of parenting while her spouse was frequently away, suggesting a stark contrast to the accusations being made against Min-hwan.
After the allegations from Yul-hee went public, Min-hwan abruptly left his role in the KBS 2TV program "The Return of Superman" amidst an ongoing police investigation into potential violations of laws concerning sexual exploitation. His agency, FNC Entertainment, shared their regret over disappointing fans and announced a pause in all media activities.
Choi Min-hwan and Yul-hee, who married in 2018 and have three children together, announced their divorce last year after five years of marriage, with custody arrangements favoring Min-hwan.
