Actress Go Min-si reveals that she reached her all-time low weight for her role in the Netflix series "In the Woods Where No One Is."
During an interview on the 26th at a café in Jongno-gu, Seoul, she explained, "While preparing for this project, I tried to avoid similar genres and characters as much as possible. I explored various genres and continuously delved into the script." The story follows individuals whose peaceful lives are disrupted by a mysterious guest during the summer, leading to a series of uncontrollable events. Go plays the enigmatic character Seong-a, who shakes up the tranquility of the protagonist's life.
In this project, Go Min-si showcases a wide range of emotions, from decadence to the bizarre, making various efforts to display new facets of herself. She committed to an intense diet, saying, "I lost a significant amount of weight, going down to 43 kg. I wanted my spine to be more visible, giving a raw, animalistic vibe that I hoped would come across on screen." Her character required not just an internal transformation but also an external one, which reflected her own struggles and concerns.
Go noted, "To appear attractively beautiful was crucial, so I paid a lot of attention to my look. I tried a sharp bob haircut and added waves, meticulously choosing outfits that complemented the cinematic background." The diverse challenges she faced brought her joy, as she felt exhilaration each time her evolving appearance was captured on camera.
