Ichanwon's KBS special show scores impressive 7.4% ratings, outshining JYP's tribute with double the viewership.

This Chuseok, K-pop artists delivered a captivating array of special shows, with Lee Chan-won's "KBS Premier - Lee Chan-won's Gift" leading the ratings.

According to Nielsen Korea, the show aired on September 17 and achieved a remarkable 7.4% viewership nationwide, securing the top spot among all entertainment programs during its time slot. Featuring Lee’s journey from his initial win on "National Song Contest" to showcasing a medley of iconic songs and spectacular dance performances, the show highlighted his multifaceted talent. Lee also hosted an engaging cooking delivery event that connected him with fans who shared their personal stories, adding an enjoyable element that contributed to strong ratings.

In contrast, "Ddan Ttala JYP," which aired on September 16, recorded a lower rating of 3.6%. This show celebrated J.Y. Park's 30-year music career, featuring guest appearances from K-pop legends like Rain, TWICE, and 2PM. While Lee Chan-won's show outperformed "Ddan Ttala JYP" by more than double, it indicates the growing appeal of these special programming initiatives.

Meanwhile, TV Chosun's "Young Tak Show" garnered a solid 4.2% viewership, taking the lead among all cable and general programming at that time. Young Tak, the star of this year’s Chuseok special, entertained viewers with a two-hour performance of 26 songs alongside his close friend Boom as the MC, creating a lively atmosphere during the festive holiday. This continuation of special shows by KBS and TV Chosun suggests a vibrant trend in the Korean entertainment landscape during festive seasons.
