In a heartfelt moment on tvN STORY's 'President's Family,' Kim Yong-gun opened up about his longing for Hong Sung-ae.
During the show's final episode on September 16, a special delivery of semi-dried stingray arrived, sent under the name of the third daughter, Yeong-ae, whom the family had dearly missed. Amid excitement over her possible return, Jeon In-taek, Yeong-ae’s husband, made an appearance, reminiscing about the family home. He noted that despite the drama being fictional, he cherished his visits to the in-laws.
When Kim Yong-gun questioned Jeon In-taek about the stingray, he explained that it was a gift from his mother, who runs a semi-dried fish shop. Yong-gun expressed his sadness over not seeing Yeong-ae, saying, “I don’t know when we’ll see her again, nor do we have any contact.” He felt pleased to see the third son-in-law, hoping for better communication in the future.
Interestingly, Hong Sung-ae reportedly retired from the entertainment industry after her marriage in 1985, leaving fans reminiscing about her presence.
