Korean Entertainment Stars Mourn the Passing of Beloved Mother Figure Kim Soo-mi at 75

The entertainment industry mourns the loss of beloved actress Kim Soo-mi, as her "sons" Tak Jae-hoon and Lee Sang-min express their deep sorrow.

On the 26th, Lee Sang-min shared that Kim had recently asked him to join her on a program. He reminisced about their discussions, saying, "The sound of her voice is so vivid, and it hurts so much not being able to visit her." He conveyed his anguish over not being able to say goodbye, promising to pray for her from afar.

Tak Jae-hoon, currently filming overseas, also articulated his grief through various interviews. He recalled how Kim Soo-mi had personally intervened to help him overcome his lateness, showcasing the special bond they shared. This revelation only amplifies the collective sadness surrounding her passing.

Kim Soo-mi was widely regarded as a national mother and actress, beloved for her support of younger stars like Shin Hyun-joon and Jung Joon-ha. Tak Jae-hoon had worked with her on multiple seasons of "Family's Honor," and together they participated in events up until last September.

On the 25th, Kim's "favorite son," Jung Joon-ha, visited her wake to pay tribute, while Shin Hyun-joon was seen in tears, moving many of the attendees. Numerous celebrities, including Yoo Jae-suk, Choi Ji-woo, and Yu In-chon, also visited the funeral home to bid their final goodbyes.

Sadly, Kim Soo-mi passed away at the age of 75 due to a sudden cardiac arrest, which led to her being transported to Seoul's St. Mary's Hospital. Her wake has been set up at Hanyang University Hospital's basement level, with the funeral scheduled for the morning of the 27th, proceeding to Yongin Honor Stone in Gyeonggi Province.
