According to a Korean news outlet, the movie 'Land of Happiness' has released its teaser trailer, drawing significant attention.

Set against the backdrop of the October 26, 1979, presidential assassination incident, 'Land of Happiness' tells the story of 'Park Tae-joo', who becomes embroiled in the incident under his superior's orders, and 'Jung In-hoo', the lawyer who takes on his defense in one of South Korea's most notorious political trials.

The released teaser trailer captivates viewers with its intense gunshot sounds and the caption "1979 Presidential Assassination," immediately grabbing attention. The trailer then showcases three key figures standing amidst the turbulent times of October 26 and December 12 that shook the entire nation.

These figures include 'Park Tae-joo' (played by Lee Sun-kyun), the secretary to the Director of Intelligence who is on trial for his involvement in the assassination under orders from his superior; 'Jung In-hoo' (played by Jo Jung-suk), the dedicated lawyer who uses every possible means to ensure a fair trial; and 'Jeon Sang-doo' (played by Yoo Jae-myung), the head of the combined investigation unit who eavesdrops on the trial from behind closed doors and manipulates its outcome.

Directed by Choo Chang-min, who previously directed 'Masquerade', which attracted 12.32 million viewers, 'Land of Happiness' promises a solid story and a profound message that spans across eras. The film offers a cinematic reconstruction of hidden stories behind well-known historical events, already garnering anticipation from prospective audiences.

The teaser trailer's grand courtroom scenes and the passionate defense by 'Jung In-hoo', who channels his anger at the era into his arguments, further intrigue viewers about how the film will unfold this pivotal trial story, which many may not be fully aware of. Director Choo Chang-min stated, "There are many films about the historical events of October 26 and December 12, but from a perspective of exploring another strand of the same era, viewers can find new and exciting narratives."

'Land of Happiness', which has heightened curiosity with its teaser trailer, is scheduled to be released on August 14.
