Lee Jun-hyuk Revealed as Single Dad Balancing Parenthood

Lee Jun-hyuk’s Romance, Defined: A Flawless Lead in SBS’s ‘My Perfect Secretary’

On the 3rd, the new SBS drama ‘My Perfect Secretary’ premiered, showcasing Lee Jun-hyuk as the epitome of perfection in the male lead role, bringing forth what can be termed as ‘Lee Jun-hyuk’s unique romance.’ Directed by Ham Jun-ho and Kim Jae-hong, with a screenplay by Ji Eun, the series tells the engaging story of Ji-yoon (played by Han Ji-min), the CEO of a headhunting company, and Eun-ho (played by Lee Jun-hyuk), a secretary who excels in both work and life.

In the drama, Lee Jun-hyuk plays Eun-ho, a secretary who juggles parenting, household responsibilities, and work with utmost proficiency. He embodies the character of a young manager in the HR department of Hansu Electronics, known for his ability to convince key talents to stay at the company, even while facing the harsh realities and inequities of returning from parental leave. Eun-ho’s dedication to doing his best despite these circumstances reflects the challenges many K-workers experience in today's corporate world.

Eun-ho’s excellence shines not just at work, but also as a father. Whether in cooking, cleaning, or simply displaying tenderness, he embodies the characteristics of a perfect dad with a warm rapport with his daughter, Byeol-i (played by Ki So-yu). Their charming father-daughter dynamic brings smiles to viewers, especially his seamless morning routine as they head to kindergarten, showcasing a blend of admiration for both professional and family life.

However, Eun-ho’s exceptional skills also draw the ire of Ji-yoon, who perceives him as a threat in her role as the CEO at Peoplez, a headhunting agency. Their initial unfavorable impressions of each other leave a mark—Ji-yoon, who struggles to remember the names of her employees, is suddenly conscious of Eun-ho’s presence. His comeback to the firm as Ji-yoon's new secretary, greeting her with “Good morning, CEO!” escalates the tension and heightens anticipation for the evolution of their relationship and potential romance.

Lee Jun-hyuk has brought Eun-ho to life, shaping him into the ‘ideal romantic hero’—one who possesses not only kindness and attentiveness but also thoughtfulness and a generous heart. His gentle aura instills a sense of comfort in viewers, reinforcing his title as the ‘perfect secretary.’ Additionally, through his vibrant energy and positivity, Eun-ho shines even amidst the gritty realities faced by working professionals, emphasizing the preciousness of family.

The chemistry between Lee Jun-hyuk and Han Ji-min stands out, particularly from the first episode. Their initial uncomfortable encounter—a standoff between the HR department manager and the headhunter—creates a captivating moment that hints at a blossoming romance. The spark in their intense eye contact suggests potential progression in their relationship. Whenever they are on screen together, their perfect romantic chemistry elevates the excitement for the audience.

‘My Perfect Secretary’ airs on SBS every Friday at 10 PM and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
