Actor and singer Lee Seung-gi has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding his in-laws.
The production briefing for the film "Big Family" took place today at Lotte Cinema in Kondae. Attending the event were director Yang Woo-seok, along with actors Kim Yoon-seok, Lee Seung-gi, Kim Sung-ryung, Kang Han-na, and Park Soo-young. Lee previously hinted at legal action regarding negative comments connected to allegations against his father-in-law, Mr. A, the husband of actress Kyeon Mi-ri, who has been embroiled in stock manipulation issues.
During the press event, Lee stated, "It seems my remark that 'the family is not at fault' caused some misunderstanding. What I've consistently said is that 'my in-laws' affairs are their own.' Since getting married, my wife and I have established an independent household, and I believe it's inappropriate to elaborate on this more. Moving forward, I think I need to act more cautiously."
Lee Seung-gi married actress Lee Da-in, the daughter of Kyeon Mi-ri, in April last year, and they welcomed a daughter in February this year. Ahead of their marriage, renewed rumors surfaced about Kyeon’s husband, Mr. A, being linked to past stock manipulation incidents. Kyeon Mi-ri's side has previously clarified through legal representation that the couple has no connection to such events and intends to take legal action against the spread of false information.
Lee's agency has also emphasized that these issues predate his marriage and are matters to be resolved by the family. They earnestly requested that the family be left out of this controversy for Lee Seung-gi’s sake. As this situation continues to unfold, fans remain eager for further updates in the unfolding drama.
