According to a Korean news article, BLACKPINK's Thai member Lisa has been making headlines for showcasing her 'young and rich' persona.

On October 2nd (local time), the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that Lisa paid 20,000 baht (approximately 750,000 KRW) per shop owner to close down Bangkok's Chinatown streets for her solo music video 'Rockstar'. This compensation is higher than the average monthly salary in Thailand.

The music video, which was released on June 28, was shot on Yaowarat Road, known as Bangkok's Chinatown. The video features Lisa performing a group dance with dancers in the middle of the street, capturing the vibrant street food and bustling atmosphere.

According to Singapore-based news website MS News, Lisa's team completely closed the area for three days from 2 AM to 5 AM (times when shops are usually closed) in May. During this time, Lisa not only paid 20,000 baht to each shop owner for any inconvenience caused by the video shoot but also offered 1,000 baht (approximately 30,000 KRW) to passersby.

Lisa's 'Rockstar' garnered 32.4 million views within just 24 hours of its release on YouTube, making it the most-viewed solo artist video within such a time frame. This achievement surpassed pop star Taylor Swift's 'Fortnight', which amassed 19.5 million views in 24 hours in April. As of October 4, the 'Rockstar' music video has recorded 71,743,993 views.

Thai local news outlet Khao Sod English reported that former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, an international business expert, advised Bangkok's local authorities to use Lisa's 'Rockstar' music video to promote food in Yaowarat Road.

Meanwhile, Lisa has renewed her contract with YG Entertainment only for her activities with BLACKPINK. She later established her own agency, Loud Company, in February and formed a new partnership with RCA Records under Sony Music in April. 'Rockstar' is Lisa's first release after going solo, drawing even more attention.
