The K-pop sensation NewJeans has made headlines by demanding that their management company, Ador, revert to the previous leadership of Min Hee-jin.
During a live broadcast on the afternoon of the 11th, the members expressed their concerns about the company's internal turmoil, including the recent CEO changes. Dani mentioned feeling insecure about losing the working relationship with their director and staff after a week of Min's dismissal. "If they truly care for us as artists, they should allow us to pursue the music we love," she added.
Haerin echoed these sentiments, expressing confusion over the external forces that seem to disrupt their group. She lamented the potential loss of their collaborative projects and the joy they brought to one another. "We do not want to lose any more," she stated, addressing their struggle to maintain autonomy and happiness amidst the turmoil.
In a similar vein, Hyein criticized Hive's methods, deeming them dishonest and urging for the reinstatement of Min as CEO to restore the original Ador culture. Dani emphasized the need to end the cruelty towards Min, questioning what could be learned from a company that behaves in such a manner. Min concluded by urging for a wise decision from the current leadership by the 25th to revert Ador to its original state.
Ador recently replaced Min Hee-jin with Kim Joo-young as CEO, despite protests from Min’s side about the sudden nature of her dismissal and the unreasonable contractual terms presented to her. Amidst these challenges, NewJeans won multiple awards at the "2024 The Fact Music Awards," celebrating their accomplishments while expressing gratitude towards Min during their acceptance speeches.
