NewJeans has sparked controversy with an emergency live broadcast targeting their agency, Ador.
On the afternoon of November 11, the group hosted a live session titled "What NewJeans Wants to Say" via a new YouTube account, instead of their official one. The members appeared with serious expressions in an office setting, as Haerin explained their decision to go live by expressing their concern for the well-being of those who have been working with them amid recent drastic changes. She emphasized that witnessing the struggles of their team made them feel frustrated and worried about their own future.
Haerin further clarified that she was concerned about the public reaction to their live broadcast and worried that it might be misconstrued as being directed by their former representative. However, she assured viewers it was their own message that they wanted to share, thanks to the help of a trusted director in organizing the event. She stressed that they didn't consider themselves to be hiding and that the situation directly impacted their lives, making it vital to speak out rather than remain silent.
The group expressed that their message was ultimately directed at HYBE, stating that while they had shared their opinions with the management, it appeared that their concerns hadn’t been effectively communicated. Minji also noted that the announcement was completely unexpected for Ador's staff, likely leaving them shocked, as well as the audience watching the live stream. This moment marks a significant chapter in NewJeans' journey as they navigate their relationship with their agency.
