Lizzy Shares New Year Greetings Amidst Controversy

Artist and actress Lizzy, who faced public backlash due to a drunk driving incident, has shared her recent updates along with New Year greetings.

On January 3rd, she posted a photo on her Instagram with the caption "Happy new year."

In the photo, Lizzy is seen wearing a hairband and knitwear adorned with logos from luxury brands C and G, while gazing at her mobile phone. Notably, her earrings are also from brand C, showcasing her full attire in high-end fashion.

Lizzy debuted in 2010 as a member of the girl group After School and gained considerable popularity as part of the sub-unit Orange Caramel.

However, she faced legal proceedings in May 2021 for driving under the influence, following an incident where she crashed into a taxi near the southern end of the Yeongdong Bridge in Seoul. Lizzy's blood alcohol level was confirmed to be at a level that would warrant license suspension. She was sentenced to pay a fine of 15 million won and subsequently entered a period of reflection.

Previously, Lizzy had publicly criticized drunk driving. Following the incident, she expressed her deep regret through tearful apologies, but public sentiment remained unfavorable. Additionally, her comment, "I was relieved that the driver was not severely injured," drew further criticism.

As we enter the new year, it remains essential for Lizzy to continue her journey towards redemption and to re-establish her image within the entertainment industry.
