In a recent episode of Channel A’s “Close Friends Documentary - Four-Person Table,” Sayuri revealed her reasons for cutting ties with Kangnam.
During the episode, Sayuri shared a heartfelt story about breaking up with a lawyer who loved rugby, emphasizing that she had truly loved him. Despite her desires to marry, he fled from the commitment, leading to her decision to become a voluntary single mother. She expressed that after their breakup, the idea of dating other men was unappealing to her, as she longed for love and wanted to start a family quickly.
Sayuri also discussed how her mother helped her find a sperm donor in Japan, explaining that she selected based on the donor's childhood photos and personal traits. She revealed that she gave birth at 40 and chose to keep her pregnancy a secret due to the high chances of miscarriage. This absence of a supportive partner in such a vulnerable moment influenced her decision to remain discreet.
Reflecting on her friendship with Kangnam, she recounted their initial meeting at a hair salon, where they quickly became close. However, she mentioned that they had not spoken in over seven years, leaving Kangnam surprised when they finally reconnected. Their misunderstanding arose from a previous accident that kept Kangnam hospitalized and unresponsive, leaving Sayuri feeling worried and ultimately hurt by the silence.
Sayuri noted that had they not met again, they might have lost contact for an entire decade. She admitted that she never expected to marry so soon, sharing candid reflections about her life choices and relationships along the way.
