Shin Jong-cheol Demands Filming Stop Amid Meat Inspection Fury

(Exsports News Reporter Won Min-soon) The head chef of the hotel, Shin Jong-cheol, expressed his anger during the meat inspection and requested to stop filming.

On the broadcast of KBS 2TV’s 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' on the 5th, Shin Jong-cheol was seen inspecting food ingredients.

That day, when asked about the reactions of those around him after the first broadcast, Shin surprisingly stated,

“Aren’t I the Byun Woo-seok of the chef world?”

Kim Sook asked Shin,

“You do know who Byun Woo-seok is, right?”

Shin Jong-cheol confidently replied,

“I’m tall and among the head chefs in luxury hotels in Seoul, I’m the best. Is there a better chef than me?”

When Jeon Hyun-moo mentioned Chef Ahn Sung-jae, Shin said,

“I think I’m better than Chef Ahn Sung-jae in terms of height and appearance.”

Kim Sook and Jeon Hyun-moo also talked about Chef Choi Hyun-seok. In response, Shin claimed,

“I will show you a comparison photo next time,”
insisting that he is the top chef in the industry.

Shin added,

“When guests come, they tell me, ‘You’re handsome,’ ‘You’re a good-looking guy,’ ‘You’re tall.’”
Park Myung-soo remarked on Shin’s self-praise, saying,
“When you come here, it’s delusion.”

Shin Jong-cheol then moved to the staff canteen to have lunch with his employees.

Jeon Hyun-moo wondered if they could eat what was left over after the buffet service. Shin clarified,

“Everything left over gets discarded. The basic principle is total disposal. No takeouts to the outside.”

Shin remarked that this meal time is a chance to witness “my emotional leadership,” but he ended up enjoying his food alone and kept up a series of 'latte talks,' making it hard to see any real leadership.

Shin recalled,

“It seems I was flying back in my day. I used to sleep only two hours a night,”
and started sharing stories about a project he experienced in Jeju to preserve the fish, “dageunbari.”

As Shin continued his monologue, his staff began to excuse themselves one by one, citing reserved guests as their reason for leaving.

After finishing his meal, Shin engaged in further inspections of the food ingredients. He meticulously checked everything from fish to fruits.

Shin stated,

“If the condition doesn’t meet my standards, I return everything and ensure it’s delivered by the same afternoon.”

During the meat check, noticing that the thickness of the meat was inconsistent, Shin exclaimed,

“None of these meet the 1 cm specification!”
and expressed his frustration.

Eventually, he requested the production team,

“Please stop filming,”
and insisted,
“Let’s not film.”
