Veteran singer Cho Yong-nam has openly expressed his feelings for his ex-wife, actress Youn Yuh-jung.
During an interview on YTN Radio's "Lee Ik-sun & Choi Soo-young's Issue & People," he responded to a question about whether he meets Youn by saying, "Not at all." He further explained that they are still connected through media, as she appears often on TV and in movies, saying, "It feels like we are living together." When asked if he sends her congratulations or greetings, he said, "I just think to myself, 'That's amazing.'
Cho Yong-nam and Youn Yuh-jung got married in 1974 but divorced in 1987 after 13 years together, having two sons. Cho acknowledged that their separation was due to his reckless lifestyle during their marriage, which included infidelity. He also mentioned Youn in a recent appearance on KBS 2TV's "Immortal Songs," clarifying that a particular song was created during their happier times, countering any misunderstandings about its origin.
Meanwhile, Youn Yuh-jung recently posed for photographers at the production announcement for Apple TV+'s "Pachinko" Season 2 in Seoul. This upcoming series explores a powerful narrative of love and survival through the eyes of Sunja, a resilient mother. "Pachinko" aims to weave a rich, multi-generational story across four eras, showcasing themes of identity and perseverance.
