In a recent episode of MBN's 'Sokpulisho Dongchimi', singer Park Hyun-bin's mother expressed her feelings of disappointment regarding family gatherings. During a pre-release video from the show, which aired on September 11, she shared her frustrations about not seeing her son and daughter-in-law during holidays.
Park Hyun-bin’s mother lamented that she wished they had communicated better, saying, "I should have said, 'Come over for the holidays and help make rice cakes.' At first, I was overwhelmed with work and worried. Now, I find myself attentive to my daughter-in-law's feelings, but I also wanted to rest during the holidays—that’s why I suggested it was okay if they didn’t come. However, they never show up, and it’s become a recurring issue."
She further elaborated on her desire to see her grandchildren, mentioning that since they are now older and in school, visiting requires coordinating their schedules. "When they visit my in-laws, they meet the whole extended family. They even go to the nursing home to visit my mother-in-law during holidays," she added.
In response to the question of whether he resents his son or daughter-in-law more for not appearing, she candidly replied, "It’s my son. Initially, I thought my daughter-in-law was influencing him, but eventually, he seemed more eager." Park Hyun-bin then clarified that while his mother may feel hurt by the situation, it stems from their desire to respect her need for solitude.
