(Xports News, Reporter Lee Yu-rim) In the final episode of 'The Call of the Now,' Yoo Yeon-seok proposed to Chae Soo-bin, marking their transition from a fake couple to a real one.
In the broadcast on the 4th, MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'The Call of the Now' culminated in a happy ending as Baek Sa-eon (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) and Hong Hee-joo (played by Chae Soo-bin) became a genuine couple.
After being shot by a kidnapper (played by Park Jae-yoon), Baek Sa-eon went into hiding, leaving Hong Hee-joo to manage the empty home alone. When she heard the doorbell, she hurried to the entrance, only to find Hong In-ah (played by Han Jae-yi) at the door.
Six months later, unable to forget Baek Sa-eon, Hong Hee-joo firmly stated, "I’m not leaving this house." She expressed her concerns, saying, "What if I've emptied this place and he returns? What if he comes back and I'm not here? I still can’t believe he’s gone."
When Hong In-ah urged her to move on, Hong Hee-joo raised her voice in frustration, insisting, "Why would you say something like that? I need him to feel less pain and be happy. I need him so much, and I miss him," before collapsing in tears.
Determined to find a clue about Baek Sa-eon, Hong Hee-joo set off to a war zone abroad. She discovered that Baek Sa-eon had been a war correspondent in Argon, and finally met him at Argon's sunset spot.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Baek Sa-eon exclaimed, "I told you to wait until I found you. But why are you here?" Hong Hee-joo, confessing her feelings, shared, "I had planned to divorce you, but I can't spend a day without you. That's why I traveled halfway around the world to find you."
With her resolve to no longer live in pain, Hong Hee-joo kissed Baek Sa-eon, wrapping her arms around his face, while he embraced her waist, sharing their emotions through tears.
The two shared another passionate kiss, wrapped in the blankets on the bed. After a night together, Baek Sa-eon confessed in the morning, "You were all I could think about," then proposed, declaring, "Baek Sa-eon will divorce Hong Hee-joo. But the real me will marry you."
After returning to Korea, Baek Sa-eon changed his name to Baek Yoo-yeon, meaning "the only love" in the world, and embarked on a new life with Hong Hee-joo.
